Web site designing is a rewarding career. There is always something new to learn, and working on all types of projects makes each day exciting and different. The challenge is making a site that can be viewed by a majority of the targeted users, not just having the "coolest site on the net". Web sites should be simple to use and easy to understand. They should be professional and original and reflect the style and mission of the owner.

I believe that Web Designers definitely need some kind of art education. The software and hardware that are used are merely tools. I was once told by a Web Developer/Art Professor that, "he could teach anyone how to use software in two weeks, but he could not teach some how to create art in that amount of time." Not wanting to be just a technical Web Developer I have obtained an Associate of Arts in Multimedia which included art training, color theory, 2d computer graphics and drawing courses. Art education is a must for any web designer.
